A – Z poetry : “X” – second entry!

I received a very one-of-a-kind entry for the alphabet we use not-so-often -> X

Dr Kate Maxwell, Postdoctoral Researcher in Multimodality and Cultural Change, University of Agder, Norway is the author/poet/creator of this.

In her own words, “I’ve been working with graphics for a few years, but this is my first poem. I’ve had graphic compositions (music) published and performed. I was thinking about all the things I associated with the shape of the letter ‘x’ and it just kind of happened…”

Here is it…

all about alphabet X, alphabet X

A – Z poetry : “T” – another one

Though we want to enjoy

Though we want to be carefree

Though we want to let it go

Though we want to let life happen

Tis’ we who are scared?

To take the plunge

To do what we want!

There are plenty who say it is a mind-game

There are equally plenty who play lame

Time, duties bound us they say,

Tremble they do, when life makes them its prey!

The question is to live life willed by our wont?

The question is to risk it all and be selfish?

The question is, “Are liabilities important?”

The answer is break free!

The answer is the chains that bind us are our own creations!

The answer is do not get lost, and let life happen!

let life happen

Galileo – The Goon (by my teenage brother)

As a dedication to my brother who turns 15 today, taking a break from A-Z, to publish a poem written by him recently..

Decades and decades ago,

In a country far, far away.

There lived a boy named Galileo,

Dead whose future lay.

Arithmetic, literature flew over his head,

Teaching sports was in vain.

He couldn’t differentiate art from scribbles,

What good was his brain?

Standing on a lonely bridge,

One day, he did discover-

That two stones reached the bottom at the same time,

Their mass may be whatever.

Galileo was puzzled,

His curiosity was aroused.

The incidence ignited a fire,

Too bright to be doused.

His answers opened the gates,

To a world that was new.

Once a bumbling boy,

Now rose to the ranks of the distinguished few.

After all, Galileo was talented,

He had a curious mind and a burning passion.

He questioned the world he saw,

Rather than accepting the old-fashioned.

So my fellow fools, I urge you all,

To question everything prevailing.

Follow the wise principle-

‘Stay foolish, Stay craving’

New light of Life

New kiss of wife

Feels like New soul of mine

New breeze of air

New love of care

Feels like New prayer of mine

New sound of river

New charm of her

Feels like New luck of mine

New touch of flower

New windfall power

Feels like New destiny of mine

A – Z poetry : “F”

One alphabet as a muse at a time. Here is “F”

First time

First rain of the season,

First flakes of snow,

First fight with someone,

Or a first performance or show..

First salary in a saving account,

First house of your own,

First promotion in the job,

Or first stepping stone..

First love of life,

Or love at first sight,

First promises made,

Or first frost bite..

First pet you owned,

First dish you cooked,

First time you lied,

For someone else’s good..

First dose of heart break,

First song of your favorite band,

First time you dance so freely,

Or first time you hole someone’s hand..

First position or first rank,

Or first new game you play,

First thing that makes you smile,

First thing of a day..

First stolen kiss,

First romantic bliss,

First morning sunrise,

First birthday surprise..

First loss of a loved one,

First funeral you attend,

First time you met,

Your first best friend..

Firsts cannot be forgotten,

However late they happen,

Since it’s the joy of a new first,

That never lets our bubble burst..

A – Z poetry : “D”

One alphabet as a muse at a time. Here is “D”

# Dare to Dream

Dig out of your bed

Drape in a silk kaftans

Drab a bit of make up

Do this to yourself..

Dip a tea bag in hot water

Delve in some food

Disperse positive energy around

Do step out..

Defeat your inner fears

Disallow that low self esteem

Delineate your plans

Dare to dream!
