Paragons of courage,
Phenomenal was the stage,
Paralympics was the occasion,
Proud was every nation.
Pain had no place,
Pleasure on each face,
Participants with such high spirits,
Pleased audiences with full credits.
Performances like heroes,
Perception of the world was transformed,
Practicing sport like never before,
Praiseful waves stormed.
Paralympics instilled in every human being,
Prevailed only one feeling,
Pointless is the disability,
Precious is their ability to create
Provided with even such fate.
Pistorius is one such person,
Privileged I am to mention,
Persuaded his desire to be the best,
Placed was he above the rest.
Provided such immense inspiration,
Paradigm of champions at heart,
Priceless is their endless contribution.

Inspiring Blog Award and a Versatile Blogger Award from Shilpi
Very Inspiring Blog Award from Rachna
Its always nice to get awarded for something, and even better when you don’t expect it at all. My heartfelt thanks to Shilpi and Rachna.
~ Thoughts on Versatile Blogger Award ~
The sheer sub-title of my blog – “versatility is not an over-rated virtue” explains my stand on this.
Everyone is special, unique and versatile. Everyone can multitask. It is just a matter of recognizing your self.
~ Thoughts on Inspiring Blog Award ~
There are two sides to the same coin, hence someone who inspires others is in turn inspired by someone else.
For many days now, I have been thinking, who inspires me? After a lot of thought I realized a lot of people and a lot of things inspire me.
So is it good or bad?
Am I easily inspired/manipulated or should I think I am surrounded by inspiring things by default.
Maybe it is a state of mind.
Many resolve to Gods and prayers when they’re low. I just look at people and things around me and it elevates my faith.
Even the feeling that I am inspiring inspires me!
When I was told to start a blog in 2011, I had completely ignored that piece of advice, and my parents would agree I should have. As a favor and kick-start, a friend started my blog and published my then-most-recent poem as my first blog post:
I saw the blog, I saw the likes but nothing stirred inside me to go forward with it or write and publish more. Then a second poem was put up to inspire me.
I thought about it, nothing clicked. There was no time or will to sit and write a blog. And as a final effort to push me, this was published :
After these 3 initial kicks for inspiration and motivation, there was a radio silence for almost an year (nine months to be precise). Later in 2012 – after my first post was published, I decided, Okay WTH let me have a look at how this WP works.
I looked. I liked. I published.
Unluckily no one pressed a “LIKE” on this. Ever.
Same thing happened with my next post :
No like. No views.
I was wondering was was going wrong. I started looking around at blogs of others. Left a few comments on the poems which I liked. Then the next poem, which was close to my heart, finally got some attention.
I decided to buck up (coincidentally that was my next post) and yes, I got one more like and follow from last time. I got 4 likes. 😀
For next 9 posts…I had 1-2-3 likes. And then the tenth one broke all records and was liked by 7 people!!
My first double digit likes came from a post which I din’t expect from – 30 bloggers :
Next few posts again had a dry spell. hardly more than 5-6 people stumbled upon my blog.
But after https://sakshivashist.wordpress.com/2012/09/24/engulfed/ – I never saw a post with a single digit like!
Even now these poems are the only ones which remain with minimum clicks and hits :

Love You Are…
Love you are so very
Endearing, you have
Made my life to shine…
Is there any need to
Wonder why it is,
That I long to keep
For you are so very
Precious, and as gentle
As a new days dawn…
Is there any good reason
To wonder, why I will
Never leave you long
For you are truly endearing
To me, and more precious
Than lovely gems…
And like a valuable buried
Treasure, I will always keep
Your love deep within.
For there is nothing in this
World, that can move my
Heart the way you do
That is why when I awaken
with the morning sun, my
Thoughts shall only always
Be of you.
This is a guest post by the person I have seen in a forever poetic mood… Wendell A. Brown. His blog, rightly named, Forever Poetic, is the best collection of poetry I have ever read.
