~about ME~

Introducing…..

Sakshi Vashist

*

A salesperson, A marketeer, A traveller, An MBA.

An ex-Electrical Engineer by profession, A poet at heart, A drama queen in real life.

A true Scorpio in every aspect – Loyal, Passionate, Dynamic, Obsessive, Manipulative, Independent, Secretive, Intense, Dominating, Emotional, Intuitive, Magnetic!

**
Started writing poetry in 6th grade just for fun. Never kept a track of most of my writing because I felt “I wasn’t good enough”, till few *important* people came along and convinced me to pursuit this passion more seriously!

I believe versatility is not an over rated virtue. Being just an ordinary child I have tried my hand in painting, singing, dancing, photography, acting, movie-making, writing poetry, scripts and plays.

And if I can, anyone can!

***

This blog is all about my literary writing (English and Hindi), composed over the span of last 12-13 years.

After I gained a bit confidence on this blog, I am trying to pen down journey of my life (till now) on another blog -> cruisingthroughmylife. This has all sorts of memories, thoughts, day-to-day stuff I randomly think about. Basically a wider collection of topics, and strictly no POETRY. Let me know what you think about it..!

Cheers!

Impressed with your poetic interest with emotional values, I feel like ‘following you, and this I am doing with immediate effect. I have seen your calendar which shows you don’t right frequently. 7. I have been at it for more than 30 years, have published 4 books, am in the process of finalizing 2 more to be published in 2013, and with every poem I write, like you, still wonder if it is good enough. Welcome to the life of the aspiring and seasoned poets. The doubt in spite of the periodic acclaim never ceases. JJF

  13. Sakshi,

It seems likely to me that a beautiful spirit within you must be responsible for your smile!

Your visit to my blog was a delightful surprise, and it pleases me greatly to know that a poet and thinker of your talents would think enough of my writing to push the “like” button on what I wrote.

You are an engaging and articulate writer and I am very glad you visited me!

    With regards….John H.

  14. Sakshi,

john from the Book of Pain poetry blog (http://bookofpain.wordpress.com/). I just got a message that you liked one of poems from Cruising Through My Life and I thought I’d wander over and read some of your poetry. I wish I could read the non-English ones! If they are as good as your English poetry I am missing much. I have ‘liked’ your site and look forward to other poems in the future.

  15. Thanks for dropping by and reading my story, I look forward to reading more of your work, as we’ve both seemed to have dabbled in some of the same creative ventures.

  16. Thank you for stopping by my blog and giving me a like on a poem. I am keen to know why you state “I am starting to dis-like this blog award thing.” but then later say you don’t want to share it with others. I enjoy your blog’s energy and exuberance.

    • I dislike it because I don’t like choosing just 5 or 10 people for an award, I used to pass the awards on earlier, answering all questions meticulously. But now I keep it to myself instead.

Call it boredom or saturation – but I feel these awards are actually for blogs with less than 200 viewers, so that they can be publicized and get more views. I feel an award is wasted if given to me, I got my share, now it somebody else’s turn to get it. what happens eventually is a group of people have been formed and awards are given from here to there.

Instead, people should give it new bloggers, who started writing just 3-4 months back and need motivation. I always drop by blogs of new bloggers, with 2-3 posts only, get to know them and then later at some point- give awards to motivate them. Its not necessary right the time I get the award I have to pass it one, it is not a compulsion. So I keep it with me, when I feel some bloggers need a kick, to write more and do better, I’ll give ’em an award.

  17. Thank you for stopping by and liking my post. I am a novice at this and it puts a smile on my face when someone stops by. I too taught I was not good enough but I learned that if you try and never give up someone will notice. I just started writing poems (at my age). It’s never too late. I like your story and continue your good work and never give up take it from me. I will be following your journey. See you soon!

    • Hey…you can mail me
      sakshi.nitt@gmail.com

You must have seen the A-Z series of poems I have written. Would you like to do alphabet “N”…??

you can use “N” as an inspiration…use as many words with “N” as possible in the poem. Mail me once you finish writing or in case you have any more doubts.

  18. Hi Sakshi!
Thanks for stopping by my freshly pressed blog 🙂
Liked your posts and poems, keep writing and no matter what keep going at it, you never know when you would actually find the Rainbow’s end!

  21. Great blog, and I look forward to checking out you cruising through life as well. Your description is a classic: engineer by profession, poet at heart, drama queen in real life… That is versatility and talent. Inspirational words are not easy to come by, and you have them in abundance. Nice work!

  22. Hi Sakshi, just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Interesting Blog Award. If you’re interested you can see my recent post. Thanks for the inspiration and great writing 🙂

  23. Appreciate you stopping over at foodforfun for my funny names in food and super sweet post. Glad you came by 🙂 Enjoying your words very much. Creative and original and they mean something.

    • Hello Selin, I did check out your blog! Thanks for the link..
I am glad to see you have written so much on and about Qatar, I find it very tough to concentrate on just one topic or country and write.. Love your consistency! Keep writing..

  24. You are very talented and your poetry has emotional appeal to many literary types. Unfortunately I am the logical unemotional type and would get very little pleasure from your writing. Despite this, wishing you the best and thanks for visiting my blog. Sincerely, Uldis.

  25. Hi! Thanks for liking my Haiku “The Opportunist”, I hope you can enjoy my other work also. I feel that I am experiencing something you have in a way that I feel my poetry isn’t good enough either at times. Any advice for a pessimist? haha
I’ve read some of your poems and they are brilliant! Well worth procrastinating for!
    From another Scorpio too
    Andy

  26. Hi, Sakshi, nice to meet ya, you write wonderful poetry :), i myself write poetry (i try) on my blog, you have a beautiful blog here, hope to see more of your writings in future , Gudluck 🙂

  27. I was reading some poetry I posted so long ago and there at the end of the post were kind words from a kind soul that I had never met, so I wandered through the binary wilderness to see how you are doing. I found to my dismay what appears to be, yet I hope I’m wrong, a deserted site. I hope all is well with you Sakshi. Sincerely, The R. I.

  28. Wow i wish i could be the one selecting people to be the president of multivational word because are realy indeed very good…you are the best
